Catholic Church

The Roman Catholic Church is the largest Christian group and traces its origin to Jesus' apostle, Peter, as the first Bishop of Rome. The pope as Peter's successor, is the leader and final authority in the church.  The Catholic Church has congregations called parishes in many countries of the world which are organized into dioceses.

National Apostolate for Inclusion Ministry (NAFIM) (USA)
NAFIM is a membership organization and community of People with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and advocates. Members are concerned with spiritual and social formation, integration, welcome and justice for such people in Catholic faith communities and in society as a whole.

National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD) (USA)
NCPD was established in 1982 to implement in parishes and dioceses throughout the United States the 1978 Pastoral Statement of U.S. Catholic Bishops on Persons with Disabilities. A links page offers further resources for Catholics in the U.S.A.
